Falahat Farooqui, MD, Internal and Geriatric Medicine
Dr. Farooqui completed his medical degree from Dow Medical College in Karachi, Pakistan. He started his medical career by starting research in basic and clinical cardiology at Medical College of Georgia and Emory University. He gained valuable experience in wound care and care of long term acute patient population in Middle GA. He then completed his Internal medicine residency from Mount Saini West and St. Luke’s Hospital Center at Icahn School of Medicine in NY, soon followed with a Geriatrics fellowship at the McGovern Medical School at University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston, Texas. Dr. Farooqui’s main medical interest and expertise includes an emphasis on the geriatric patient population their healthy living, long-term care and independency.
Dr. Farooqui has contributed to a number of publications and book chapters in development in clinical cardiology while at MCG and Emory University.
Dr. Farooqui is a member of the American Medical Association, American Geriatric Society, Pakistan Medical and Dental Council, Pakistan Medical Association and the Patient Welfare Association in Karachi, Pakistan. He is fluent in English, Urdu and Hindi.
When not practicing medicine, Dr. Farooqui enjoys different ethnics foods, reading, outdoors, loves driving. He has great love and passion for animals.
